Mobile Surgical – our theatre on wheels, serving Hāwera since 2002, has reached a major milestone: 2,000 patients – highlighting its impact on improving healthcare access in the region.

With June marking Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, the focus on endoscopy services is especially important. These procedures play a vital role in the early detection and monitoring of gastrointestinal conditions, supporting better health outcomes through timely care.

For some, this care is deeply personal. Patient Cindy Lewis is currently undergoing regular five-year bowel screening after losing her father to bowel cancer at just 50 – a reminder of the important role early detection plays in improving outcomes.

We’re committed to working alongside local health providers to strengthen access to essential services and keep patients connected to healthcare within their own communities.
