Graduate Certificate

Graduate Certificate

Mobile Health works in partnership with ARA Institute of Canterbury to offer a wide range of professional development for both registered and enrolled rural nurses. The courses are designed with rural nurses in mind and have a large proportion of online learning.

Course Entry

Courses are available to both Registered and Enrolled and Nurses who have a current New Zealand practising certificate issued by the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Some courses may not be open to enrolled nurses and/or require students to be currently employed in the specialty. (which may include working on the mobile surgical unit)

Qualification

Individual courses can be taken, but many Registered Nurses will work towards a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice. This requires 60 credits which equates to approximately 600 hours of learning. Nurses can choose any course in the programme as there are no compulsory courses.

Enrolled Nurses can take most courses (different course code may apply), and these will be assessed at a level relevant for an enrolled nurse. These will contribute to professional development but will not be part of any overall qualification.

Sponsored courses

On the successful completion of specific courses, Mobile Health will reimburse course costs to nurses who work on the mobile surgical unit (must be pre-approved). The courses currently eligible are:
